High
School
AP Art work senior year of high school
In High School, I used the theme of climbing to give myself endless idols to choose from to practice my art and appreciation for the sport
I was very interested in illustrating the sheer grit and physicality off climbing
There was a lot of practice needing to be done
College
In College, I carried over the theme of climbing
Instead of focusing on painting my idols, I focused on myself as a means to illustrate climbing throughout my childhood as I navigate into being an adult
I used other climbers as references back in high school because I found everyone else more suitable for being the subject of my paintings rather than myself, but as I got older I wanted a more personal relationship with my work rather than only painting other peoples stories
